Youth |
- The young people of Faith are one of Faith's most important assets!
- They meet on Sunday mornings for a class and once a month on Sunday afternoons.
- In addition, the youth go on retreats, and enjoy regular outings such as bowling, paintball, snowtubing, Hershey Park, and camping.
- The youth are actively engaged in the mission work of Faith Church and have been on several mission trips for which they have raised their own money by holding car washes, bread sales in Advent, spaghetti dinners, and pancake brunches. Special mission work includes the annual Crop Walk and the Souper Bowl offering, both of which benefit food programs. In addition, the young people helped staff a walk to benefit Autism work. Faith has sent teams which have included youth to Mexico, Appalachia, and Guatemala. Young people have also helped to staff our booth at the Gay Pride Festival and our outdoor movie festival in the summer.
- A part of worship, the young people are readers, ushers and members of our choirs.
- We have a liturgical dance troup that is made up of teen-age members.
- This year, a Confirmation Class for Middle School students meets on Sunday mornings.
- Once a year the youth group conducts the entire worship service and during Advent, they present a Christmas play.
- Our Board of Deacons has a member of the youth group serving as a Deacon. Faith is blessed to have a strong
team of youth advisors, as well as a congregation who regards our youth as their own, welcomes them into their homes, and supports their activities.
