|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 9:15 am on Sunday, repeating until October 31, 2020

In October, we’ll be concentrating on some of the racial issues that abound in our city and our world. Please consider attending these Adult Forum sessions:

4 & 11 – T. Marie King will be discussing non-violent community activism. T. Marie is a civil rights activist in Birmingham who spends her time hosting reconciliation workshops, mentoring local students, and helping low-income families find the resources they need. She will be talking to us about non-violent community action.

18 – Judge Philip T. Caroom (ret.) of the Maryland Alliance for Justice Reform will be speaking with us. This organization is a bipartisan, statewide alliance, seeking legislative changes to bring MD into the 21st century. The group seeks corrections policies that are evidence-based, humane and effective. Come and learn about how we might be a part of this initiative.

25 – Our own Charles Minor will be providing us with a presentation about famous Baltimoreans and Marylanders who have changed our country. Charles in a long-time Baltimore City Social Studies teacher. He worked for Baltimore City School for 34 years, a department chair at Harlem Park and Mergenthaler Vocational High School. After retirement, he taught in private school and served as an adjunct at Coppins. Charles is married to Susan and they have two adult children, Franklin and Amanda, who grew up at Faith.
